A puppy suffering from PneumoThorax was treated at Jivdaya Charitable Trust
A Little little puppy was bitten by a bigger dog. This pup was brought to Jivdaya for treatment. On examination the doctor discovered that that pup’s lung was punctured and he had trouble breathing. A collapsed lung, or pneumothorax, is the collection of air in the space around the lungs. This buildup of air puts pressure on the lung, so it cannot expand as much as it normally does when you take a breath. If left untreated it could have resulted in death.Dr.Chaitaniya Shroff a human physician and Cancer specialist, suggested a new technique to treat the pup. Combined treatment resulted in a great operation which saved the pup’s life and gave us a new outlook into veterinarian treatment.
Inserting a “Chest tube” into the space between the rib and he lung. The chest tube is a hollow, flexible tube in the chest. It acts like a drain. They used a water-based drain for this particular operation.
Removing air from the lungs to help it build up again. The lung collapses on itself if left untreated.
