Code of Conduct

A volunteer is a valuable member of the community, with the unique opportunity to work with Jivdaya Charitable Trust. These ground rules are your agreement with the trust.

  1. This is a tough and physically challenging job, and volunteers are expected to work hard.
  2. The agenda and the hours vary considerably. Volunteers are generally needed every day — during meal breaks, for instance.
  3. Volunteers are responsible for their own travel, meals and accommodation.
  4. Volunteers are in charge of their own health and safety.
  5. Volunteers should not undertake any activity that their own health makes unwise.
  6. Before taking on a new case, every volunteer should understand the particular health and safety risks that case carries.
  7. The task changes with the occasion. If you cannot carry out what has been asked, tell a member of staff in advance.
  8. Volunteers have no authority to enter into a contract on behalf of Jivdaya Charitable Trust.
  9. Acting against this code of conduct will end your involvement immediately and permanently, including any future volunteer events.
  10. Volunteers must not use the name Jivdaya Charitable Trust in any advertising without a trustee's approval.
  11. Alcohol and illegal substances while working are not tolerated.

Jivdaya looks forward to having you as a volunteer.
