Code of Conduct
A volunteer is a valuable member of the community, with the unique opportunity to work with Jivdaya Charitable Trust. These ground rules are your agreement with the trust.
- This is a tough and physically challenging job, and volunteers are expected to work hard.
- The agenda and the hours vary considerably. Volunteers are generally needed every day — during meal breaks, for instance.
- Volunteers are responsible for their own travel, meals and accommodation.
- Volunteers are in charge of their own health and safety.
- Volunteers should not undertake any activity that their own health makes unwise.
- Before taking on a new case, every volunteer should understand the particular health and safety risks that case carries.
- The task changes with the occasion. If you cannot carry out what has been asked, tell a member of staff in advance.
- Volunteers have no authority to enter into a contract on behalf of Jivdaya Charitable Trust.
- Acting against this code of conduct will end your involvement immediately and permanently, including any future volunteer events.
- Volunteers must not use the name Jivdaya Charitable Trust in any advertising without a trustee's approval.
- Alcohol and illegal substances while working are not tolerated.
