Code of Conduct

A volunteer is a valuable member of the community, with the unique opportunity to work with Jivdaya Charitable Trust. These ground rules are your agreement with the trust.

1. Working in animal welfare can be challenging, mentally as well as physically. As a volunteer you must accept those challenges and do your best for the animals.
2. You choose your own days and hours, with a minimum of two days a week or eight hours a week.
3. Jivdaya is not responsible for any expenses incurred by general volunteers.
4. Before you start, consult your own physician about the vaccinations you need, and submit your vaccination certificates to the head of department at JCT.
5. Volunteers are in charge of their own health and safety.
6. Volunteers should not undertake any activity that their own health makes unwise.
7. Before taking on a new case, every volunteer should understand the particular health and safety risks that case carries.
8. The task changes with the occasion. If you cannot carry out what has been asked, tell a member of staff in advance.
9. Volunteers have no authority to enter into a contract on behalf of Jivdaya Charitable Trust.
10. Acting against this code of conduct will end your involvement immediately and permanently, including any future volunteer events.
11. Volunteers must not use the name Jivdaya Charitable Trust in any advertising without a trustee's approval.
12. Alcohol and illegal substances while working are not tolerated.
